Awaken Your Spirituality And Never Let It Fall Back to Sleep!

We’re supposed to be living in a spiritually awakened society or at least on the threshold of a new spiritual era – if you believe some of the leading gurus. Apparently, we all are so disenchanted with the blatant consumerism, vanity and pleasure seeking activities, that we, wholeheartedly, have turned to the “alternative”. Meaning, spirituality and spiritually-rich living. Really? I don’t know where those gurus got their info from, and more importantly, are they talking about the same spirituality I know and foster…

Spirituality, my friend, is not booming. It is not even growing. It is not conquering new minds, those that were closed before to anything other than enhancing “joie de vivre” to the max. And no, I’m not talking about the kind of spirituality that is affiliated with one of the religions. No, just responding to one’s inner call, and beginning the road to discovering “What am I?” This is my definition of spirituality. It certainly has nothing to do with rituals, secrets, séances, occult, etc. It’s purely about the self-enquiry that will bring you closer to realizing your true nature.

But, following the path of self-enquiry is the least popular of all spiritual activities. Why? Because most of us would rather pay for a ticket and share the buzz of a large seminar, hoping that the “aura” some of the most famous speakers proclaim to have, will bring blissful moments to our downtrodden soul. It surely is much easier than meditating for hours and seeing no discernible “results”. And so the spiritual lives of Mary and John go: reading the bestselling book from one of the “names” on the spiritual circuit; another visit to a convention center for a seminar featuring some of the best known self-help gurus. Making plans to visit Sedona, and perhaps take part in one of the now infamous sweat lodge ritual, and the list never ends.

And sooner or later, you become disenchanted with your “spiritual” progress. Nothing seems to be working! Why? You want to know why? It’s because when you became awakened to spirituality, you did nothing more than carrying on with your perverted thoughts and deeds; only decorating it with a guise of “spirituality”. Carrying on like that, you’ll end up as happy and content as those you feel deeply sorry for – real and perceived villains, thieving entrepreneurs, vain socialities, criminally minded, satanists, atheists and everybody in between. The tragedy is that you know more. You at least know where to find pointers to true spirituality.

Your spiritual awakening, when it happens, will be your greatest gift. Those who truly realize it, call it the greatest thing they have experienced in their lives, for it gives you the “reason” to live. Sadly, the great majority will squander it. Some will leave it for later, and let if fall asleep. Others will decorate it with spiritual paraphernalia given to them by false gurus and self-centred teachers. Don’t be like them. Make it your vocation to grow spiritually till Reality dawns on you. Remember, the next awakening make take eons of time filled to the brim with illusive pleasure and real pain. Your time is now!
