Into Great Silence
For me, being spiritual means eagerly seeking new means of connecting with the Divinity. Each day, every hour, every thought.
Listening to the uplifting music, reading Enlightened authors, meditating, saying sacred mantras, observing Nature; the list doesn’t end here.
Seems enough for one simple human being… Then, I have discovered Silence.
Quite by “accident” though we know nothing happens by accident, during a routine online search, a film was found that promised to be “out of this world.” True to its promise, it was. Watching Philip Groning’s “Into Great Silence” brought in me momentous feelings, you know right away, are going to determine your life, from now on…
It felt as powerful as the memories of my first Communion and as the discovery of Dr David R. Hawkins’ work. Yes, watching “Into Great Silence” is one of the three defining moments of my life.
Seeing how the life goes on in the monastery of the Grande Chartreuse for centuries, in almost total silence, made me longing to places where all that is, is Emptiness and Silence. Then, there’s nothing intruding between you and God. Your Self starts shinning forth and connects with the Consciousness. The Silence continues even during the chants of the Night Office, for the voices you hear serve only as the forte marks on the scores of lives locked inside the monastery walls. If you’re longing for a peace within, you’ll find its seeds in each scene of this great film.
